Profile Settings
Your profile settings allow you to customize how Codecks works for you. Access your profile by opening Mission Control (click the joystick icon in the top left) and selecting your profile picture or name.
Basic Info
Profile Image and Name
You can upload a profile image and set both a user name and full name. Your user name is used throughout Codecks to identify you, while your full name provides additional context for team members.
To upload a profile image, either drag and drop an image file onto the image area or use the upload button.
Theme Settings
Codecks supports three display modes to match your preferences:
- System: Automatically matches your operating system’s dark or light mode setting
- Light: Always uses the light theme
- Dark: Always uses the dark theme
Theme settings are stored on a per-device and per-browser basis, so you can use different themes on different devices.
Managing Multiple Emails
You can associate multiple email addresses with your Codecks account. This is useful when you’re invited to different organizations using different email addresses.
Adding a New Email
To add a new email address, enter the email and your password, then click “Add Email”. You’ll receive a verification email at the new address that you need to confirm.
Primary Email
Your primary email is where all Codecks notifications are sent. To change which email is primary:
- Verify the email you want to make primary
- Click “Make primary” next to that email
You can remove any non-primary email addresses if you no longer need them.
Email Notification Preferences
You can control which email notifications you receive:
- Daily digest: Receive a daily email if there are unseen changes in your projects
- Conversation notifications: Get notified when someone comments in a thread you’re participating in (emails are batched, so multiple comments close together result in a single email)
- Weekly digest: For admins and owners only, receive a weekly summary of your organization and public decks (this setting applies per-organization)
- Newsletter: Receive development news and Codecks tips (approximately one update per month about new features)
Browser Notifications
You can enable real-time browser notifications to stay on top of conversations even when the Codecks tab is in the background or closed. These notifications work on a per-device basis and require permission from your browser.
To enable browser notifications:
- Check the “Receive browser notifications for new comments” option
- Click “Activate” to grant permission in your browser
- Your browser will prompt you to allow notifications
You can disable browser notifications at any time by unchecking the option or clicking “Disable”.
Accessibility: Workflow Color Palettes
Codecks uses colors to indicate different card states. To improve accessibility for color-blind users, you can choose from several alternative color palettes:
- Default: The standard Codecks color scheme
- Prot-enhanced high: Different colors for snoozing and done cards to help differentiate them with Protanopia
- Prot-enhanced low: Different color for snoozing cards to help differentiate with Protanomaly
- Deuter-enhanced: Different colors for done and Doc cards to help differentiate with Deuteranopia
Each palette shows a preview of how the different card states will appear, making it easy to find the combination that works best for you.
Preferences
Visual Preferences
- Don’t show animated gifs: When enabled, only shows the first frame of animated images
- No card animations: Disables hover and completion animations on cards
- Show card id in time tracking widget: Displays the card identifier in the time tracking interface
Interaction Preferences
- Enable Quick Edit: When enabled, the card editor opens when clicking on card text instead of requiring a separate “edit” click
Auto-Filter Preference
You can configure Codecks to automatically filter large decks or milestones to show only your cards when they exceed a certain size:
- 50+ Cards
- 150+ Cards
- 250+ Cards
- Never auto-filter
This helps keep large projects manageable by focusing on your assigned work.
Timeline Display
You can override your organization’s default timeline settings:
- Scale of Timeline: Choose between showing days or weeks in the timeline view
- Week Start: Select whether weeks start on Monday, Sunday, or Saturday
These settings allow you to customize the timeline view to match your personal workflow, even if your organization uses different defaults.
Personal Tags
Personal tags are labels you can apply to cards that are visible only to you. They’re useful for organizing your work in ways that make sense to you personally without affecting how other team members see the project.
You can create, edit, and manage your personal tags in the Personal Tags section of your profile settings.
